Innovation and Entrepreneurship
During the industrial revolution Cleveland’s economy was booming thanks to its large numbers of inventors and millionaires. Fast forward 100+ years and the city and Cuyahoga County are once again leaders in the innovation game. The Cuyahoga County government is partnering with philanthropic funders, businesses, and academic institutions to support the innovation continuum and to continue to strengthen our region with smart, sustainable solutions.
Cuyahoga County is committed to improving the county’s global competitiveness through partnerships and strategic investments that foster economic growth and create vibrant, welcoming places for businesses. Regional growth is a top strategic priority for Cuyahoga County, and the County is dedicated to ensuring our businesses are growing and profitable by promoting and investing in entrepreneurship and inclusive innovation.
Cuyahoga County supports entrepreneurship on a resident-level as well. The Cuyahoga County Library Innovation Centers, available to all County residents, offer targeted programming for early-stage entrepreneurs. Residents have access to cutting-edge technology and software, and are able to design, prototype, and test new ideas. Supporting innovation and entrepreneurship can be a path to stability and increased income. The goal behind the Library Innovation Centers is to inspire and drive entrepreneurs who utilize the Innovation Centers to successfully graduate to incubators and accelerators.
